The United States Government has announced that it will allow the entry of travelers from the European Union who are fully vaccinated as of November 8th.
President Joe Biden has made the decision to reopen the borders as the numbers of cases are on decline in the country. In the last day, the United States registered 88,895 new infections, according to figures from the New York Times.
Visitors must prevent, apart from the vaccination certificate, a negative Covi-19 test carried out within three days prior to the trip.
In order to show the vaccination certificate, the immigration control will allow all vaccines that have been authorized by the World Health Organization (WHO), including AstraZeneca. Other vaccines such as Sputnik or CanSino are still under review.
The measures apply to tourists from a list of countries that include the 26 European states of the Schengen area, as well as the United Kingdom, Ireland, Brazil, China, Iran, South Africa, and India. These will not be subject to quarantine upon arrival in the country, but they must provide contact information to facilitate tracking in case of infection.
The entry ban is maintained for visitors who are not vaccinated.
